Hi I'm Mark Emiley on behalf of Expert Village. In this segment I'm going to give you a overview of brown style in particular the northern English brown style. In northern English Brown style strikes a balance between toffee and kind of nutty as well as a little bitterness to provide some background. The aroma is going to have a nice light sweet aroma. With some toffee, some nuts and some caramel in there. There may be a slight noble hops which is going to have a earthy kind of floral tones to it. So it would be a small fruity easter profile and no other major characters. The appearance is going to be dark amber to a reddish brown. It is going to be clear and have a off white or even maybe a tan it is basically going to be a beautiful beer. Almost some garnet highlights. The flavor is going to have a gentle malt sweetness. But then you are going to pick up the nuts and the caramel melts. It will give you a little bit toasty bread and a hint of chocolate. The hop balance is pretty even with just enough bitterness to bounce the sweet malts. The malt fields are going to be a medium body and to a even to a little medium high carbonation. It has kind of a nice lushes malt feel. Overall a nice easy drinking but also nutty beer.
