Hi! I’m John Armstrong with expertvillage.com. I’m a professional guitar instructor and today we’ll be going over the 12 string guitar. Another thing that’s really kind of interesting and kind of cool on a 12 string guitar is arpeggios. An arpeggio is an Italian term, which means broken cord. Basically what I’m doing when I’m doing arpeggio, and this applies to the 6 string guitar also, is instead of strumming all the notes of the chords together simultaneously, I’m picking the notes of the chord out individually. Okay. Which sound kind of cool on the 12 string because really you’re picking 2 notes at a time. Notice I mixed in a lot of suspended chords with that as well.
