Hi! My name is Paige. You can see my website at www.porchproductions.net. Today we’re talking about your mini DV camcorder. Right now, we’re going to talk about trouble shooting some different issues. Say that you can’t get your camcorder to actually come on. There are a couple of things that you can troubleshoot to see what’s going on. You want to make sure that you have a charged battery, which you may not. Make sure that you have a battery installed and that it is installed correctly. You want to make sure that your power switch is turned to on. Sometimes on DV camcorders, it will have a lock setting. You want to make sure it’s off the lock setting and just on on. If it’s on lock it will not record. If your battery is not working and you’ve got your power on then you want to take out your battery and either put in…you want to turn your power off, either put in a new battery that is charged or else you want to use the power supply cord that came with your camcorder. Those are some basic ways to troubleshoot if your camcorder is turning on or off, if it is not turning on for you. Other than that, you want to probably call a technician. The best way to do that is to call whoever made your camcorder; Panasonic, Sony, and ask for a technician that works on that type of camcorder in your town, you can look it up on the Internet, or you can refer to the Yellow Pages. Those are the basic steps to troubleshoot if your camcorder is not turning on.
