Walking Bass Line Exercises for the Bass Guitar

Hi! I am Carl Shepard with expertvillage.com. I am talking about different bass techniques today and I want to go over different walking bass lines with you. Say you are doing a song that is from a key of A and you wanted to transition from A to D in your progression, if you wanted to walk that you could go A, B, C, C sharp to D and if you want to walk back down it could be D, F sharp, G, G sharp and back to A. You put that together and as you will notice I am using all four fingers to do this, so that way I have a clear sound and I am not trying to play each note with one finger as it would definitely make it harder. A lot of gospel players use that kind of walk and it definitely works in any blues progression.
