Scrapbooking: Creating a Cover for a Memory Book
Hi! I am Ginny with Simply Beautiful Crafts. Please stop by for a visit at www.tlcproductionsonline.com. Well are you ready to get started on your memory book. Today I want to show you what you want to do for your front cover and also the inside cover of your memory book. For my memory book for our daughter Sheila, I put a lot of thought into her personality and what she likes, and she likes bright colors. She is a very outgoing person and so on the front of her page I also like 3D, so I use a lot of 3D type products when I am working in some thing like this. I used little wooden cutouts to put her name down the side and then I used my fonts that I had previously done on the computer to come up with 20 reasons to celebrate. One of the greatest things that you can get for doing your memory books are wrapping paper, just plain old wrapping papers from the store. You probably have lots on hand from your many occasions so I used a piece of wrapping paper right here in the corner and on all of my pages I used my template and then I took some of the old tag and made a piece so that it would give a little bit of stability to the paper. On this page I used a white background for it. You are also going to want to leave a little bit of room because you are going to make a binding when you are all finished and that will come into your template a little bit. Once you have designed your cover and put on whether you have your paper cutouts, and your 3Ds or simply some graphics or perhaps a photograph, before you glue your solid piece onto your paper bag, make sure that you have whatever you are going to use to bind your book with, inserted between your paper bag and your template so that when it is all done you will be able to tie your book together. You can go anywhere from very fancy to very plain on the front but it will set the theme for your book on the front cover. On the inside cover of Sheila’s book, I just chose to put things showing celebration and again you can see that I used my template and I made a piece the size that I wanted to fit in here and just put some cutouts on it in celebration. So that is what I did for my cover and my inside piece on my paper bag memory book for Sheila.
