MATT CAIL: Hi, I'm Matt Cail. And on behalf of Expert Village, I'm going to be providing you with tips to make your travel a lot easier this holiday season. So you want to travel on Thanksgiving. Well, hopefully, when you're actually asking yourself this question, like, okay, what exactly do I need to do to get ready? You have months ahead of time because Thanksgiving and planning for travelling on it takes time. Thanksgiving is one of the busiest, if not the busiest, travel day of the year. You're going to have jam-ups at airports. There's going to be all sorts of various logistical challenges which we're going to deal with today. But the important thing is to make sure that you start early, not to wait until November starts to creep around, to think it might be nice to go home and have Turkey Day with Mom and Dad. Thanksgiving falls usually towards the tail end of November, generally on the fourth Thursday of the month. This means you kind of ping-pong around the calendar. But that's not as important as just realizing, you're not going to be able to start planning for Thanksgiving right in November, no, no, no, no, no. You should really start thinking about your Thanksgiving planning back here in September timeframe. That's going to be a solid 2 to 2 1/2 months out. This is going to be imperative to make sure you can get some decent deals on lots of the travel methods we're going to be talking about, and it's making sure that you have a plan. Now, you may not be the most planning-minded person, if you want to travel on Thanksgiving and not give yourself premature gray hairs, definitely, plan often, plan early.
