WALLY REULE: Hi. My name is Wally Reule. I'm a personal trainer, owner of SedonaFit, and I'm here on behalf of Expert Village. This piece of equipment exercises the hip abductors and adductors. Those are the muscles that move the hips out or in. They're very important for lateral movement. They're also very important for balance as because we age it's very important to maintain the ability to use these muscles so that we're more confident in the way we walk and this is a very simple exercise. Legs go in these holsters and just back and forth, pulling, pushing, pull, push and we go like this, very simple. One of the advantages of this exercise or this type of equipment still is that the machine defines the movement as we're isolating this muscle groups so in this case the abductors and the adductors. True with all of these that each--one of these machines will isolate the muscle group so we can build the foundation.
