Okay, now I want to discuss the cross hand technique. It's something that Carter Beauford from Dave Matthews, who's one of my personal idols, I just like the way he plays and incorporates so many different styles, and who, by the way, is somebody I would look at for just a quick lesson because he incorporates so many different styles, even can pack into just one song, and he's very, very talented. So this, I kind of took from him, and I'm going to do it on the drums first, but ultimately we're going to do it on the crash cymbals. And not only does it look cool, it makes a really unique sound, so I'm going to do it on the drums first these two times, and then we'll move it up to the crash cymbals just so you can kind of get a chance to hear how it sounds. So here it is on the drums. So you can see the bottom hand crosses under as the top one goes over, and it's two hits on each one, so it's... So now what that looks like, it's a little bit faster on the crash cymbals because they're a little more further apart, and so, also, I always like to kick, I use the kick drum whenever I use the crash cymbals because it makes it more full, and unless the song specifically calls for crash without kick like what we did earlier with the buildup, I usually like to add that kick, it adds a little more punch to it. So here's what it sounds like between the two crash cymbals, I'll start with the beat, well, we won't start with the beat, we'll just go right into it, so start off slow. I'll start off slow without the kick just so you can hear it. So here's what it looks like with drums. And you can also use the kick double time, maybe to fill up some of that crash, so we'll do a beat, go into the cross hand, we'll come back into the beat really quick. So there's a lot of noise, and a lot of flash, and one of my favorite things to do.
