Moving from Spot to Spot in Still Life Drawing

Hi this is Julia Karch for Expert Village.com. In this video series we will be talking about still life drawing for beginners. In this section we are going to be talking about moving from spot to spot on your still life and that is about moving object to object. I know I’ve touched on this before but it is important to keep the mind so that you see your image as a whole rather than getting caught up in details. For instance rather than getting caught up in how this stalk to this acorn squash is formed, you are going to look at everything as a whole. The benefit to doing that is you are going to free yourself up while you are drawing and you may not get as much accuracy but you will get more of the relationship of one object to the next and also we must not forget about the shadows underneath each one that is also part of the picture of the whole image.
