I enjoyed, and learned from this video, BUT would like to have known what to do with the napkin when you must leave the table. I thought the napkin was placed on the chair (not table) to indicate a "return". Sarah

Using a Napkin Properly at the Dinner Table

Hi! I am Marianne, and on behalf of expertvillage.com, I will be discussing dining etiquette. This topic will be on how to use your napkin. When you are first seated at the table, you take your napkin and fold it in a manner that will just lay on your lap. When using your napkin, you just pick it up and wipe the corners of your mouth. That is the proper way, and then you can lay it back down. Then when you are finished with your meal, you just fold up your napkin and just slide it underneath the plate. That is the proper way to use your napkin while dining.
