Hi this is Julia Karch for Expert Village.com. In this video series we will be talking about still life drawing for beginners. In this section, we are going to discuss about training your eye and this is good for still life or even figure drawing. It is kind of freeing yourself up with drawing. You don’t look at your page. You start out at a mark where you want to on your object and you don’t take your eye off that object and you follow the outer edges and you just draw what you see without taking your eyes off the object. Never look at the paper. I could look at the paper again just to see where the next object is but it is about partially freeing your eyes up but also really seeing how the object is formed at the outer edges. So I’m seeing all of the ridges in the acorn squash. You are not interested in how the drawing is going and because it is not a finished product but that’s an idea of what you get. That is really training your eyes to just follow and not how accurate it is but to see the outer form.
