How to Play Scales in Up 4 Approach on Guitar

Hello, this is Joe Wiles with the Rock in Rock Conservatory on behalf of Expert Village. In the last couple of segments we used the method called the up 3 method. This one is similar it's called the up 4 method instead of going up 3 notes we are going to go up 4 notes. It's a little bit trickier, take a look. We are going to start with the first note of the scale and go up 4, 1 2 3 4 then we are going to go to the second note of the scale and go up 4, 1 2 3 4. Third note to the scale up 4 (playing) and fourth note of the scale as you might guess you go up 4. (playing) With breaks every 4 notes it sounds like this. (playing) Give that a rough practice and commit it to memory, in the next segment we are going to go back down the scale and I'll see you there.
