Object Relationships in Still Life Drawing

Hi this is Julia Karch for Expert Village.com. In this video series we will be talking about still life drawing for beginners. In this section we are looking at relationships between objects. It doesn’t matter how close or how far apart they are, you can pull something apart like this. You can have one object like this and learning how objects relate to one another is about how to train your eye to see what is really in front of you. This has a space here. This has a space here. This plane relates to this plane. This plane relates to this plane. So when you approach a drawing I think do not be interested in what the outcome is or what the picture is but in capturing the essence of it. Seeing the relationship between each object to one another you want an approximation of each one. You also want to take into account the direction that each one is moving in. This line is moving this way. You can put a line that way. This one seems to be moving at an axis like this to the left. This one is kind of central. Always keep in mind that you are building on each of these drawings. You are teaching your eye to see in a truthful way.
