How to Play the C Major Pentatonic Scale on Guitar

Hello, this is Joe Wiles with the Rock in Rock Conservatory on behalf Expert Village in this segments we are going to talk about C major pentatonic scale which is also your A minor pentatonic scale. It looks like this, we are going to start on the low E string and play the fifth fret and the eight fret. Make sure you pay attention to what fingers you are using we are going to use our index and pinky. Index on the fifth fret pinky on the eight fret, we're going to go to the next string the A string. We are going to use our index finger on the fifth fret and our ring finger on the seventh fret. Make sure your using down up strumming alternate picking. On the D string we are going to go to the fifth fret with our index finger and the seventh fret again on the ring finger. On the G string the same thing fifth fret with our ring finger seventh fret with our ring finger. On the B string we are going to go to the fifth fret with our index finger and the eighth fret with our pinky. The last string the high E string we are going to go to the fifth fret with our index finger and the eighth fret again with our pinky. In content with proper fingering and proper picking it looks like this. (playing guitar) Do your best to commit that scale to memory because we are going to be using a lot in the next series of segments. In the next segment we are going to talk about the linear approach to that scale, I'll see you there.
