Etiquette for Greeting Guests
Hi! I am Marianne and on behalf of expertvillage.com, I will be discussing dining etiquette. This session is on greeting etiquette while you are dining. If everyone is already seated dining and you have a guest coming to join you, and it happens to be a female, proper etiquette is for the gentleman to stand up and greet the person, shake their hand. Then only be seated after she has seated herself. And this also applies to if she should excuse herself to go to the ladies room, again, the gentleman at the table should stand up. This also is a common practice for any gender to stand up when there are dignitaries dining with them. That is the proper greeting etiquette while you’re dining.
