How to Change a Furnace Filter

Hi, this is Jon on behalf of Expert Village in this video clip we'll be changing our furnace filter. Now right before winter I always recommend to people to go ahead and change out their old furnace filter with a new one. On this unit our furnace filter is located between our unit and our duct work, to pull that out you just pull it straight up. Now when you pull out your old filter you want to pay attention to the direction of air flow and when you put your new one in this arrow is going to have to be pointed the same direction. I went ahead and switched out my old one for a new one I have my arrow pointing the same direction and I'm going to install that just the opposite of my removal of the old one. Now I always write the date on the side of the furnace filter typically if a furnace filter will last for about three months and most people don't remember the exact date they put it in, so I just write it right on there.
