Mental Set-Up for Magic Tricks

Hi! I am Joe Marshal with expertvillage.com. I am a professional magician, and today we are going to go over some basic magic tricks. Okay, so this is the preparation that you will need to get into the trick. Basically, you are going to have an option selected for every coin, depending on what they pick, so even if they change their mind, you can still get them, as if you are controlling their thoughts. And the way to do that, say if they choose the penny, and they keep the marker there on the penny, say “that is the only one I have had in my hand the whole time, you know.” And that’s that one, for the penny. Say they choose the nickel, you say “that is the only one that has writing on the back of it,” and it is usually their name, so that is your out for the nickel, if they choose the nickel. Say if they choose the dime, you give them the chance to change their mind, so they are sticking with dime. You say “I wrote down a prediction of one of the coins you would pick,” and when you open it up, it just says something like this, and it is kind of important that is written this way, it says “I find it odd that I given the chance to change your mind, you still did not.” They usually like that, it hits harder, “Wow, I could have changed my mind, what if I change my mind and you chose the dime.” Then the last one, the quarter, say if they choose the quarter, that is the only one that you have written down inside the actual marker that they used to mark the coin, quarter. It sounds like this would not be really effective, but if you do this for somebody and give it a chance, it can literally blow their mind. I have seen people well up in the eyes, out of like fear that I have controlled their thoughts, and some of the most skeptical people that I have performed this on still cannot figure out how this is done. Although it is completely simple to get, once you think about it, it is just you do not think that simple, you think so complex like, was it something he said, and they just blow their heads up. You should give this a shot; it is really good.
