How to Prime New Siding for a Home

Hi, this is Jon on behalf of Expert Village in this video clip we'll be priming our new material. The type of primer that you want to get is a good exterior primer, now this is going to go on our board. When it dries it's going to really allow that paint to stick and hold and seal a lot better. Now as we prime this you're going to want to make sure you get a nice thick coat and I'm just going to be putting this on with a small roller. You're going to want to make sure to coat the front side of it and that is going to be showing out where everybody sees it, you're going to want to be sure to get the sides, ends and the other side here. Continue this for the entire length of the board, once you're finished priming go ahead and set those pieces aside to dry.
