How to Identify a Problem with Home Siding

Hi, this is Jon on behalf of Expert Village in this video clip we'll be identifying the problem. On our house we have an area toward the bottom where water has seeped up the siding and begun to rotted out. If we take a little bit closer look we can see here where the siding has become mushy and it's really pliable. When you buy it new it should be real hard it should be mushy at all. On this side we have an area that has already been patched and if we take a look here underneath the patch we can see where it is rotted all the way through. Someone just put a board over it to fix the problem. Now if the problem is not fixed the water will continue to seep into that siding and it will eventually rot out whatever is behind it. All the insulation will probably become moldy so this is a good thing that we are going to want to fix here.
