The Objective of a Chess Game

Hello. John Livingstone, Expert Village. This is my Chess series. I showed you previously the basic moves of the game. And, now there's going to, now, I'm going to cover some of the other important points that you do need to know. And, firstly, something which is very important, what is the object of the game. The object of the game is to capture the opponent's King, that's what it's all about; the capture of the King. Chess is not like Checkers, it's not a question of getting all of the material. You could be in a situation where you had only four pieces on the board and your opponent had twelve, but you could still win, if you can capture his King, so that is what it is all about. And, I mentioned earlier that the King does have a unique roll and the unique roll is that you cannot afford to lose your King, because if you lose your King, that's the end of the game right there and then; no matter what else may be going on. So, at all times bear in mind two things, the importance of keeping your own King in a safe position and watch out for opportunities to attack and capture the opponent's King.
