Hi! I am Erica Lane and I am with Expert Village and I am talking about how to train the female voice. I want to talk about choosing the right song style. Different people have different kinds of voices and so there are different styles of music that fit each voice. With the female voice in particular, there are many different styles that you can sing as everything from pop to country to classical, rap if you may, R and B, soul music, jazz, pop, the list goes on and on and there is so much. So many kinds of styles. So, if you have a more classical voice and you have not really trained your voice to sing pop style make sure that you do not choose a song that is more pop like if you are going to perform in public and you are not very comfortable with it. If I am going to sing a Michael Jackson song like beat it, but I had a more classical voice that just would not work. I cannot support that kind of range and I do not have the type of chest voice that is required in order to sing a high pop song, like Michael Jackson sings. And also, if I have a more pop style voice or more rock style voice and typically rock is a lot rougher sounding I do not want to lean towards singing something like jazz let’s say because if I have the rough rock style in my voice and jazz requires smooth alternating rhythms throughout then I need to make sure that I am careful in choosing a song that is suitable for my rock style voice, not suitable for a jazz style voice. Just make sure that when ever you are searching for the right song, that you choose the right style for your voice.
thanks, your tips is really useful!
i think that is so true!
I loved the videos. There were enough lessons to make it worthwhile to watch and to show that Erica really knows what she is speaking about. If I were in Texas I would definitely take lessons from her. Great job Erica!
