Approaching Opponent on Ladders in Heroscape

MIKE LOPEZ: Hi, I'm Mike Lopez with Expert Village and today we'll be discussing Heroscape and its expansion sets. And now we're going to go over being adjacent to a creature when you are on a ladder. Now this creature Syvarris is on the ladder as we see and he is up from this creature over here. And now, not only does he have a height advantage but since this creature which is at the level of four is right there at the base of this ladder means that they are adjacent to each other and therefore are in engagement which means a standard adjacent engagement rules apply and when either this creature, or this creature moves out of being adjace to the other creature they will take a leave attack or leave attack dice will be rolled for leave damage. And once again this is a free swipe and gives you a free swipe at a creature if the creature leaves engagement. Now if Syvarris was one higher on the ladder they would no longer be adjacent and they would not be adjacent to begin with because adjacent on the ladder is the same rules that apply for height and since this creature is only a four and Syvarris is up six, then they would not be adjacent and therefore would not have engagement and or leave damage if they leave their current position on the game board.
