Hi! I am Joe Marshall with expertvillage.com. I am a professional magician, and today we are going to go over some basic magic tricks. On the French drops, it basically works because of the finger palm, when it is concealed in the hand. Basically finger palm, this is what you want to practice, dropping the coin, letting gravity drop it. It is going to hit certain spots of your fingers here. You kind of want it ideally to hit right in this area, to take up this portion of the hand, and the reason being is because you kind of want your first finger and the thumb to free, in case you would to like pick something up off the table, or for other coin tricks where you have to pick up another coin, and you really got the coin in the finger palm. It is good to make sure you have this down, so that these two fingers can be free for other things. But, basically it just a knack of finding the spot when you drop it from the French drop into finger palm; that’s important. Some people will just clip it with the ring finger and cover it with the middle and pinky, so that it cannot be seen from the front, but I mean if your pinky and ring finger have to hold it that is okay too.
It's a great trick, but the stupid euro coins are too small.. I can't grab it! Not even the largest one: the two euro coin.. I'm still gonna try, though.. anyone got any (more?) tips?
