How to Move a Rook in a Chess Game

Now I would like to show you the moves of the rook. The rook moves either in this direction along the different files or it moves in this direction across the ranks. But it always moves in that if you wish straight line direction and when it comes to capturing again, it does have the option as I mentioned earlier but if it were to capture an opposing piece, it would simply be a question of removing that piece and putting the rook in its place. The rook does also have a unique move potential which other pieces do not have and it is called castling and I will be getting into castling later on during this show. But for now let us just stick with the basic rook moves.
