Job Interview Tips
Hi, this is Katie Roney, on behalf of Expert Village. We are discussing how to have a successful interview. When you go in as a candidate, you're thinking to yourself, how do I want to be perceived? Do I want to be funny, do I want to be quiet and serious, or do I want to, you know, have confidence, or do I want to be humble and approachable? All those things are probably going to run through your head. It's okay. The most important thing is that you're prepared to be yourself. You want them to want you. You don't want them to want the interview you, you want them to want you. So try to be as confident as you can without being cocky. Arrogance comes off very offensive, during an interview. So, talk about yourself, but don't talk about yourself that may make the interviewer uncomfortable. Also, listen very attentively. Looking around, you know, not paying attention, not taking notes, all of that's going to come off as uninterested. Also, know your history, prepare yourself, know your resume, know what you've done. Go through all those necessities and then be prepared for any type of question. Of course, you can get online and you can look up, most popular interview question. You can talk to your friends and co-workers, see what they've been asked in interviews. Just be ready. Also, the truth is of the utmost importance.
