How to Conduct a Position Review
Hi, this is Katie Roney, on behalf of Expert Village. Today we're talking about how to conduct an interview. Describing the position description to candidates is going to be one of the most important points in the interview. It's nice to let them know everything that you know. That way there isn't anything that will come out later that maybe they were unsure of, and you'll know that you did your job in giving them every facet of the position. So it's crucial and I would advise you to do it at the beginning. That way any questions he or she may have later on, you know, can be discussed right then, or any concerns or red flags can be discussed, and it may bring up some points, relevant points when you discuss their resume with them. You want to let them know everything, not only their day to day responsibilities, but also the responsibilities that they're going to have possibly with other teammates, and with their hiring managers. The number of years of experience, that's going to be huge. I would ask that as you go along, how many years do you have in this? How many years do you have in this? And make notes as you go, so you'll that have it for yourself later on. It's just good practice to document everything during an interview. And anything technical, or anything in that realm, you definitely want to get down. You may or may not be on their resume. So discuss the position in full. Make sure you get every detail and, you know, have it in front of you. Give them a copy of it, that way you can both kind of go down the list together, and just right off the bat you'll know if it's a good fit for them.
