Volume Control for Female Voice Training
Hi! I am Erica Lane and I am with Expert Village and I am talking about how to train the female voice. Specifically, right now, I am going to talk about phrasing. So, if I were going to sing Amazing Grace, let's say I sing the first verse… after you have developed your breathing and you know how to breathe correctly you will be able to sing that whole phrase without taking a single breath and the more you can do that and connect your phrases together without stopping the richer it sounds. So, let me try that again… So, did you notice that that was not correct. I am going to take a nice big breath from my stomach, from my diaphragm area, not from my chest, so that I can have plenty of support and I can hold the phrase all the way over. If it helps, make an arch in the air until you reach the end of your phrase, that way it would help you push until you get to the end without taking a breath or chopping it up in the middle. So, I will try it one more time and I am going to use the arch... and I did not take one breath and it is a much smoother richer sound because I did not chop it up and because I focused on my phrasing.
