Troubleshoot Pool Vac Ultra Turbines

We have pretty much disassembled the Pool Vac Ultra. We are deep into it now to the area of the turbine and the gear box. One of the things you want to look at with the turbine here now is that it spins freely. I like to put it on my finger here and just spin it. Now you can see that it stops because it is lubricated by the water but make sure there is no binding because you want to make sure that you have got good bearings. If not, then replace them. The turbine for the most part itself doesn't go bad. If it does, it's going to split across it after a lot of use. Just keep your eye on it, make sure that there are no divots and that it also is in good repair. Now our gear box, this is a real important thing. This is the steering box, they call it a program pattern. It is by the sense that the programming is in the gears. When it comes out in one piece here. This is where the water goes and this little bushing. Now this is fun, this is how you test it. You want to make sure that it is relatively clean and put it up and blow on it. That's a good sound. Now that rubbing is because I am spinning it faster than it is and of course it is lubricated by the water but as I am doing that I feel that this piece is going around. Water comes in here spins this piece inside of it and makes this spin. If it is rough, there are gears inside and it is not a serviceable part, replace it. That's taking a look at both of those two things and they are very important parts of keeping the Pool Vac Ultra healthy and happy.
