What are Roller Derby Rules?
Hi. This is Jerry Slezler from the International Roller Derby League for Expert Village. Some of the rules of Roller Derby: two teams of five skaters wearing protective gear such as helmets, mouth guards and pads take up positions along each other in a pack formation. Each team consists of either four blockers and one jammer, some leagues use more jammers as rules are modified by each league to fit the skater's skill and competitive needs. A signal is given and the jam commences. All skating is performed counter clockwise on a small, narrow track. Today a few professional roller derbies use a bank track. Most use a flat surface track. How much does it costs? What if I get hurt? Is roller derby fake? What if I'm really little? Do you have to be big and burly to play roller derby? We'll answer those questions in the next video.
