How to Sew Stuffed Animal Clothes

Hi, I'm Karen for Expert Village. Now we are going to make a little heart patch that we are going to place in the front of the bears dress. You can use it to like say I wrote here "Let's play". You can put a child's name on it, you can write awake, or good morning, anything you want you can write around there. So we would start by taking a piece of filth and fold it in half and just cut out a little heart shape. You can also use the fleecy fabric it comes in a huge variety of colors and you can also use the fleecy fabric. It's great for cutting it you don't have to finish the edge just like filth you don't have to finished the edge. Okay so I"m going to place the heart about two and a half inches and down from the top and the center of the little bears dress. We are just going to sew it to one half of the fabric. So you can open that up and put it in the front piece. I have pinned down just to hold it in place and I'm going to do a simple in and out stitch to apply it to the fabric. Now if you prefer you can hand sew this on or with the machine. But I think it has a nice homemade quality when you just do a simple in and out embroidery stitch around the heart to hold it on. Just continue all the way around the heart. Then just finish that up putting the needle into the back of the fabric and knot it. To make a knot you just catch a little bit of the fabric and pull until you get a loop there. Put your needle through the loop and pull that loop down. So now you have a new loop and then put your needle through that loop again. Pull the thread to pull the loop down and then pull the whole thing. That would give you a pretty secure knot and snip it off. Now we make another heart that we are going to place on the middle of the blanket.
