Hi, this is Molly Mackey and I’m with Expert Village and today we’re going to talk about content and desirability in purchasing used books for resale. There are a couple of common mistakes people tend to make and they tend to rush out and buy big art books and these are great, but they take up a lot of space and they’re very heavy to ship and many times they are worth only one or two dollars on the internet so skip them unless you really know what you are doing. Same thing with literature, a lot of times people see a first edition and they get really excited but it’s really a book club, but we’ll go into that a little bit more in another segment. Right now I want to point out some things that I do like to buy in content. Here’s an art book and it’s very obscure, it’s from a museum, it’s got really nice color prints. Thing like that I like to buy, from obscure artists and you know printings. Basically this art book I have listed for about twenty dollars and I probably paid about fifty cents for it at a yard sale so this is what I like to look for. A quick other example would be something with interesting content, like Sumi-E painting, kind of an obscure subject, somebody’s going to want it and be interested in it. Love to pick up something like this. Yoga books, you know, I’m pretty, as long as it’s something interesting they always do well. Martial arts are another good subject and lastly something original like this, these are the kinds of things that sell on the internet.
