How to Buy Books Online to Resell

Hi, my name is Molly Mackey and I’m with Expert Village and now we’re going to talk about copyrights and editions. On this particular book we’re going to look at the copyright date, and the publishing date. So when you look at it as a glance on the title page you might see a date that stands out, 1975. It’s not necessarily meaning it’s a first edition, we want to look a little closer to all the other little dates inside. This book was originally published in 1925, so you can tell by 1975 it’s been through quite a few printings. This particular book happens to be still in demand but you, usually when you see something like that it’s going to be too popular and you want to avoid it because we’re going from 1925 all the way to 1975, little much. Every once in awhile you will see underneath and it will actually say the edition stated, first edition or second edition, that type of thing. First editions, typically are collectible but there again it depends on the content. This particular book is probably about a fifth edition I would say. So again, you want to look to the earliest copyright date and you want to match it up with the current copyright date and judge from there.
