Hi! This is Brian on behalf of expertvillage.com. The next thing you want to do to prepare your site for setting up a tent, is to lay down a tarp or a ground cloth. This is very important for 2 reasons, primarily. One, it helps maintain a clean tent, as it keeps the dirt and everything underneath it. There is less to clean up afterwards and less to deal with as far as dirt while you are actually camping helps make things more comfortable for you. This is also important that it keeps moisture from coming up out of the ground and wetting down the tent, and wetting down the sleeping bags. That can make for some very uncomfortable and cold night sleeping. To properly use this, you just simply lay it out flat on the ground. You don’t want it to be too large beyond the area of the tent, but you do want it to cover as much underneath as possible if not completely. Using one is a very simple matter, simply unfurling onto the ground and laying it out flat.
