Install A Frame Assembly

Now it's time to replace the A frames. Now, the bearings on the A frames, to double check and make sure that they're in good working order, of course these are brand new, is that these are...to make sure that the outer part is actually on there. The fact that the bearings bunch at the bottom is okay, that's how they're designed. These are a little bit different. This is a good example of a part that you want to make sure that you're getting the right one for your cleaner. So when you go down, get a little bit of advice at your local pool retailer because you can pick up some A frames that are for concrete pools or other models that they make. This is specifically designed for the above-ground pool models. I'm looking good, now it's time to actually put them into the cleaner. At the bottom here...and what you want to do is take the bottom bushing -this is a new part, it comes in the kit- and just place it right in the cradle, okay? There's only one way it can go in, it sits nicely right there, and now we're going to put in the A frames themselves. You want to put it in where the part with the hole for the screw goes to the outside because that's where she mates up with the pods. So it's kind of a swoop motion, swoop and down. You can see here how the metal part of the bushing sits into the new turquoise bottom bushing half. Same thing here, we've got the hole and screw out, swoop and sit. Alright, I'll put her down right over here, angle it so you can continue to take a peek at it. We're going to use the top part. We're just going to use a small, little screw right here with a locking star washer. Just put it right through its appropriate hole, here, and it just sort of completes the half situation as it sits on top and screws into the brass subset. There she is nice there. Hold it up, using my screw gun at the lowest torque setting and being gentle so not to break the plastic. Perfect, just making sure that they move freely. Excellent. Now the other thing is to put in the side bushings. Now they are keyed in one way or the other here so that it slides in only one way towards the top, there we go. So I slip it in, grab with both fingers and push. That's good. It does protrude both here and inside, repeat on the other side. The key to flat part, straight up and down, a little push, and now we have perfectly working, brand new A frames, ready for the next pods.
