How to Use Triads for Electric Guitar Solos: Part 3

Hi! My name is John Armstrong with expertvillage.com, I’m a professional guitar instructor and today I’ll be going over some of the basic rudiments of playing lead guitar or soloing. Okay talking about triads there’s a nice little triad exercise you can use to help you become comfortable with the major, minor, diminished triad patterns, for example using the major pattern or major shape this is the basic shape that expands across starting off a low E-string, the A-string and the D… Now there’s a different shape that kinds of starts off…so what I’ve done is I would just take an order to help me get used to that I’ll start with an low E, A and B, then I’ll move up a fret…so I’m just taking my major triad pattern and moving it across the neck and up and down the neck…etc, etc you can continue to go up the neck and down the neck in that same fashion using major triads. Next we’ll be doing the same thing using the minor triad pattern…and then the same thing using the diminished triad pattern…
