Hi I'm Karen for Expert Village. Here's a nice little gift that's handmade and that you?re sure to get a wow. Opens up like this and it's a beautiful decoration that you can send through the mail, flat. You can make it out of paper or like this one is made out of a velum. Metallic velum that you can buy in sheets. This is the metallic velum and it folds just as well as paper. It's a little bulkier because it's thicker. But it does fold up flat and you can put that into an envelope. This one is made with paper. Regular paper and as you can see it's just as nice. So what we'll need for our pop up star is 5 or 6 sheets of square sheets of paper or this is a little bit heavier than paper not quit a card stock a little bit heavier. I'm going to use a 3 1/2 inch square you can use about 5 or 6 depending on how big you want your star to be. This is 3 1/2 inch square and you'll need some ribbon to tie off the top. Some double stick tape or glue and a few extra pieces of paper or a few pieces of card stock to finish off the end and to hide the strings. Okay, so let's get started. Each of the square sheets we're going to fold in the same manner. So first we're going to fold it in half. Exactly in half like so and than fold it in half again. Like this, so you got in folded in quarters and opened up and turn if over and we're going to fold on the diagonal here and just match up the corners like that, nice and carefully. Cause you want your folds to be pretty exact. Now when you have it like that you just pop it down. You can see it already want to fold like this. You pinch in two ends, like that. I'll show you on the side what it looks like and than you fold it like this into a square. Okay, and that is the one piece of our star. We're going to put together 6 pieces of that and I'm going to show you a few times cause it is important to fold it correctly.
