How to Make a Pop-Up Bell: Part 2

Hi. I'm Karen for Expert Village. Okay, and then we're going to cut into our, our cone on one side and then the other side alternating. So first I'll start here. Now the thicker the spaces in between the shorter the ornament will be. So for this bell when I made the spaces a little thicker and it is a little shorter. For the bride I put them a little bit closer together and you just get a little bit of the more delicate and a longer piece. So we'll start by, here's our cone shape and we're going to cut in the same curve. Until we get about 1/4 inch from the edge. Do not want to cut it all the way through. You cut it all the way through it will fall right off. Okay, so you're just going to cut any thickness here that you want. Keeping in mind that the thinner they are the more delicate they are. And then you'll turn it over and we're going to cut a little further up. 1/4 inch or so from here and parallel with that line and do the same thing. Cut in the same sort of the curve and stop 1/4 inch before you get to the edge. You don't want to cut all the way through and then just flip it over and continue on in that fashion. Not cutting all the way through about 1/4 inch stop. You can turn it that way as well and just go all the way. See we're getting like a zigzag piece that's what it should look like as you're cutting. Now remember to stop 1/4 inch before you get to the end a flip it over and continue cutting. Now when you get to the end here. Probably stop there. Because you want to have a little something to pull it up and out. So it's going to be about that size on all of them. We have that on the top. So at this point stop. And that's about an inch. Maybe a little less than an inch.
