Prepare Baking Pans for Pumpernickel Bread
Hi! My name is Kip and I am here on behalf of Expert Village. Today we are making Pumpernickel bread. Our dough is now rising and it is a good opportunity to take our bread pan that we are going to use. We are going to use one rectangular bread pan and we are going to use one round cake pan to make this Pumpernickel bread. To prepare our pans, you can grease these. Again, I'm a big fan of cooking spray because it is quick and easy and this is actually a cheese cake pan that we are going to use for our Pumpernickel bread and put a liberal amount in there. Some people like to use baking sheets but not all baking sheets are the same. Some baking sheets are just cheap and they don't work well. So if you don't have a good bakery supply, I just have not found that wax paper is supposed to be bakeable and that it works that good. What I prefer to do and it works well, is to grease the pan and put flour in the pan. What you do is sift that flour around and on the edges you can make a little bit of a mess this way on your counter but you want to make it get all the way over like that. Now that looks good and dump what is left over in there. Take your little deal here, put the rest if there and then do the same thing and you might need to get a little more flour at some point. Now when you roll this out after you've baked it, it will have a little bit of a white floury surface and it will come out real nice. There you go. Get a little more on that part and we are just ready with our pans.
