How to Make a Japanese Envelope: Part 2

Hi this is Karen for Expert Village. The first fold that we are going to make is we go from this corner and you take the paper. You are going to fold from the corner, you just want to press and hold that corner. The edge of the paper is going to meet the center line and it should go right down the corner. Let me show you that a little bit on this angle. You are folding from the corner exactly to the corner and the side will go to the center point that you have marked right here. Now we would do the next side. We are going to fold up this part of the paper here is going to be folded perpendicular or parallel with the edge even with the edge. The side is going to be folded to the center. So you want this be to be lined up along the edge and you want the side of this fold to come to the center. So when you have that set then you can crease that. This is what it looks like. Now we are going to do the next side, you are just going around in a circle. You do this side and then this side. Now we are going to do this side and you do the same thing. The side is going to be folded up even with the edge and this time you can see that the paper lines up nicely along this edge. So when that edge hits the center it is even here and it lines up with that edge. So when you got that you could crease. Then the final fold is you fold this up even with the sides and the edge to the center. You see it is folded into a very nice rectangle. Then to close it we just open up that last fold and we are going to reverse the fold on top. So you just open it slightly here and you are going to reverse this fold and this fold and tuck it in. Like that and that is perfectly folded and very easy to do. Now this will fit a quarter fold a eight and a half by eleven inch card.
