MIKE LOPEZ: Hi. I'm Mike Lopez with Expert Village, and today we're going to be discussing the black color from "Magic: The Gathering". And now I'm going to go over Afflict. Afflict is another card that has been around since the beta release. It's a very powerful card, its 2 and a black to play. It is an instant which means it can be played during any phase of the game or between any phases of the game. It is a common card of the basic set which means you can find them in booster packs and/or you can buy for 20 to 25 cents a piece at your local gaming store and what it does is allows you to take target creature and give it -1/-1 until end of turn and you get to draw a card so you can eliminate a creature by taking its toughness down to zero after combat or after damage has been dealt to that creature, and you will also get to draw a card, so you're getting two effects for this one card.
