MIKE LOPEZ: Hi. I'm Mike Lopez with Expert Village, and today we're going to be discussing the black color from "Magic: The Gathering". Now we're going to discuss distress. Distress is another one with powerful card that is a utility card for your black deck. Once again, it is a common as of the 10th edition. It is a sorcery spell which means you can only play it during your first main phase and/or your second main phase. Distress costs you 2 specific black, cost you a swamp and a swamp; it does not cost you a one colorless and a swamp. It cost you 2 swamps cause once again, this is made for your black color and then what this does is, a target player reveals his/her hand; once again, it is always beneficial to know what it is in your opponent's hand. You can choose a nonland card from it and that player has to discard it. A player is not given a choice, they have to discard it. Once again, not only that you get to look at your player's hand and nobody has but you also get to make him discard a card that you don't want him to have. This is key to the control domination that you will see in blue and black or just a domination you will see at a black and if you have a [INDISCERNIBLE] in play, then we he discards a card, he will lose a life. Once again, this is not dealt damage, its loss of life which cannot be prevented.
