How to Play Seven Chord Arpeggios for Electric Guitar Solos
Hi! My name is John Armstrong with expertvillage.com, I’m a professional guitar instructor and today I’ll be going over some of the basic rudiments of playing the lead guitar or soloing. Another thing that I like to do in soloing is to do seven cord arpeggios, for example here A-major, okay if I was to do A-major 7 it would be my root, my third, my fifth, my seventh, root, third, fifth, seventh, root. To make that into a dominate 7, I’m going to flat the 7, so I’d have root, third, fifth, flat and seventh, root, third, fifth, flat and seventh. To make into a minor 7, root, flat and third, flat and seventh, root, flat and third, fifth, flat and seventh. I can do the same patterns over here in the A-string, root, third, fifth in the case of D-major, root, third, fifth, seventh, root, third, fifth, seventh, root, third, fifth, seventh. Dominate 7 by flatting my seventh…minor 7 by flatting my third and my seventh.
