How to Shape Brown Irish Soda Bread
Hi my name is Brandon Sarkis on behalf of Expert Village. Today I am going to show you how to make Irish Soda Bread. Alright so I am going to flour up my hands so I can form this a little better. What you want to do is flour up your hands real good otherwise it is going to stick to my hands and I am going to make a big mess. I am going to start by doing it by trying to form it into a ball but I don't want to smash it down too much because that is going to knock a lot of the air out of it. That would not be good. We want it to be dense and we don't want it to be super dense like a brownie we want it to be dense like bread. I am forming a nice round shape here. I don't want to flour the bottom and also if you flour the bottom you won't get that crispy interaction between the pan and the butter with the bread. Make sure you keep flour on top of this one because you want flour on top of the bread to give it that nice rustic look. As a matter of fact I am going to sprinkle some extra flour on top.
