Hi! My name is Matthew Christian from Tampa, Florida and on behalf of Expert Village, today I would like to talk to you about the proper use and maintenance of a yard edger. Most edgers have a provision for adjusting blade depth. Sometimes you may not want your blade to go too deep or sometimes you may need it deeper than what the factory had set it at and that can be accomplished by simply loosening a nut and adjusting the guide wheel. This particular one if I spin it around so you can see when this wheel is all the way down like this, it keeps the blade from going too deep or conversely if I bring the blade up, it allows for the depth of the blade to go further. Personally I prefer a deep cut and as I demonstrated earlier when I am using an edger, will hold it on a slight angle and it cuts the grass back just a little bit further and maybe might not have to edge quite as often. So to make it deep again, we will bring the wheel all the way to the up position and then screw down the lock nut.
