Shampooing the Carpet to Detail Your Car
Hi! I am Bob Osborne with Expert Village. Once you have completely vacuumed the vehicle, its time to shampoo the carpeting. Now if the carpet is very dirty, especially the car mats, I always pull the mats out, put them on the ground and I will use a hose and a brush, wet them thoroughly, spray some degreaser on the really tough stains and I will agitate with a brush. I will take the hose, rinse and then I vacuum up the mat. I lay it outside and let it dry. Once I have done the mat, then I go in, I address the regular carpeting. Most of the time underneath the mat, the carpet is not dirty, but whatever areas are left soiled, apply general purpose cleaner or general purpose degreaser. Again Simple Green is the brand that I use very, very lightly to the soiled areas. The method I use which is really quick and very simple is just take a bug sponge that’s fairly wet, apply water after you have applied the degreaser or cleaner and then take a brush and then vacuum it up.
