Where to Buy Gaffed Magic Trick Coins

My name is Wayne Phelps. I’m a professional magician, and this is expertvillage.com. I want to talk a little bit about where you can get your coin gaffs. Typically you can get a coin gaff through any magic dealer. If you go in there you want to look for a coin that is a good quality. Coin gaffs aren't cheap and if you see something that is you know three or four bucks you are probably going to want to avoid it. Also when you performing you don’t want to grab a gaff that requires you do some fancy maneuver that you’re not ready for yet. You want to make sure that it polishes well and you also want to make sure that it feels good in your hands. If you can’t perform the trick, if it requires you do some fancy maneuver that you’re not comfortable with, don’t buy the gaff unless you’re absolutely certain that you’re going to able to pick up the maneuver. Focus on coin tricks that in coin gaffs that are going to teach you maneuvers like the French drop, or the palmy or whatever that you can use in other effects. Something that’s going to be worth your while, but magic dealers are the only place you can buy gaffs. Online your best friend as well, when you’re buying online make sure the person you’re buying from knows what they’re doing, make sure they’re not some guy sitting in the middle of their garage milling out coins. You want to make sure they’re magicians. Magicians know what kind of effects that other magicians are looking for. So you want to look for coins that are good quality ask questions, ask them how long they have owned the coin, ask them why they are getting rid of the coin, if it’s private dealer, you know, you want to make sure that you know the coin is not damaged, the gaff is not damage anyway and you just want to look out for that stuff. Gaffs are really great. They’re lot of fun and they can really give you some powerful effects to your magic repertoire that just can’t be reproduced with slides of hand. Get a few that work you, and you’re going find out that there are going to be reputation maker.
