Chest Press Exercises for Travel Fitness

Hi I’m Manny Castro, exercise physiologist. As I mentioned earlier in your exercise tube kit, you will probably find something similar to this. You’ll have two hand grips; you’ll have an easy resistance and a tougher resistance. In this case, the easy resistance, being the green tube and the harder resistance being the purple tube. You will also find a set of short tubes and a set of long tubes depending on what exercise you are doing. Now for this next exercise called the chest press, what we are going to do is I am going to start off real easy since it is my first exercise then I am going to hook on the hand grips and I am using the green resistance tubing which is the easy. Basically what I want to do is bring this behind my shoulders just under the shoulder blades, my hands and my palms are facing down and notice that the hand grips are over my wrist and also the tubing is over my arm and over my elbows. Basically to do this exercise I am going to have my elbow somewhat up and I am going to start by extending the elbows and come right back and it is very simple. Basically what I want to do and especially starting off this easy on my first set, is use a resistance that I can manage very easy so I will have a resistance warm-up and I will do about three sets of this exercise in about 15 to 20 repetitions. I can progress in resistance and use the purple tubing which is more difficult tubing.
