Washing the Front Car Detailing Tips
Hi! I am Bob Osborne with Expert Village. When washing a vehicle, especially if you are doing a professional detail, you need to spend some time on the outside of the car and get it done right, clean it very throughly. It is the most important part of the detail and requires the most amount of time. As a professional detailer, I usually divide the wash of the vehicle into two parts. I will start with the front of the vehicle and the bottom part of the vehicles, meaning the wheels, tires and rocker panels because those are usually the dirtiest areas of the car. So we do not want to go ahead and mix up all the dirt that’s on the bottom of the car with the relatively clean top of the car. So we address the front and the bottoms and the dirtier parts of the car first with a separate wash bucket, clean it throughly and then move on to the top. When we work on the front part of the car, the first thing we need to do is to wet the vehicle. After the front of the car is wet and make sure that the car is not in direct sunlight because sunlight actually accelerates the action in most of the chemicals that we use. Start by spraying the front of the car after it has been wet with a degreaser. I use Simple Green. They have an automotive degreaser that is biodegradable, it’s harmless to the environment and it does a very good job of cleaning the car. Once you have gone ahead and thoroughly soaked the front with the degreaser, you can take a Bug Sponge. These are available at most automobile supply houses. We are trying to get all of the bug spray off. Sometimes it takes two times to do this.
