Putting up a long sheet so I am cutting it in half so that would be 4 foot. Which would be 48. I will use an old piece of sheet rock that?s already 4 foot long make sure there is a straight edge to it. Instead of me using my level, I'm going to use this, it works just as fine. Make sure that my lines which I measured lines up. And if I really wanted to try and leave it there and get my razor knife instead of using my pencil I can use my razor knife it serves the same purpose, but only I'm killing 2 birds with 1 stone by using my razor knife.
Do not use a piece of cut drywall to draw a line. The line will not be straight - especially the way Jo cuts drywall. Use a chalk line or a hard object, like a metal ruler or the edge of a metal level, to draw a straight line.
Also, do not use a razor on a soft straight edge. You'll shave off the edge and make it NOT STRAIGHT!
