How to Do the Latin Boogaloo Dance

On behalf of Expert Village I'm Safi Thomas from the Hip Hop Dance Conservatory here in New York City. I'm Ray Davis from the Blade Academy also in New York City and we are here to bring you Boogaloo. So today we are talking about Boogaloo, now Boogaloo is a style that is pretty much a foundation in relation to hip hop funk styles. Boogaloo started in the 1960s like more like the mid 1960s. It actually stands out from a earlier art form by the same name which was Boogaloo which was a Latin dance that starts to spread across the United States. Now in the east coast here while Boogaloo was pretty much staying true within its roots in relation to Latin and Latin flavor in the west coast as funk music became more popular it started to expand. The dances started to expand as the urban areas start to get a hold of it. So a lot of the dances that we even do today, even social dances are very simple movements that we do all stem from Boogaloo. So we are going to take you through the history and the movements of Boogaloo.
